Our recently renovated 2700 square foot cottage is just a short 4 minute walk to Sauble Beach, the second longest freshwater beach in the world. This beautiful 11-kilometre stretch of fine sand alongside crystal waters has been compared to the beaches of the Mediterranean! We have spent countless weekends renovating and furnishing our cottage with families in mind. The main living area of our cottage is completely open concept with a cedar covered cathedral ceiling and a living room, dining room and kitchen in one massive open room. A magnificent floor to ceiling stone fireplace with gas insert takes the chill off those crisp fall and winter nights. The living area in this room boasts two comfortable sofas and chairs, television with satellite connection, DVD player and VCR, as well as 6 large windows that help to make this area a nice, bright, space. At the other end of this expansive room, is the dining room with 12 windows that stretch from floor to ceiling. A large pine table with seating for up to ten people gives you ample room to enjoy family meals. You can also access the huge 800 square foot deck with patio set and barbeque from the dining room so that you can enjoy outdoor meals. Between the dining room and living room is a modern kitchen well equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and all the utensils you will need. Two full bathrooms are located on the main living level including one with a large walk in shower. All 3 bedrooms are located on the main floor. Bedrooms one and two each have queen bed, dresser and night table while bedroom three has a double bed, and bunk bed with a double lower bed and single upper. On the lower level (ground level) you'll find a huge rec room with plenty of seating, a ping pong table and a second fireplace with gas insert. This second living area is perfect for families with children or two families vacationing together. It provides a little extra space for everyone at the cottage and is a great play area when the weather isn't co-operating. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy including a fire pit where marshmallows can be roasted and ghost stories told well into the night. Although summer holidays at Sauble are extremely popular, our cottage offers the perfect winter getaway. We are steps away from an extensive snowmobile trail system that covers Grey and Bruce counties. Bring your camera because you will experience some of the most beautiful country you've ever seen. If you prefer cross country skiing, the best classic nordic ski trails in south western Ontario are located just a 5 minute drive down the highway.
